Indian Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in collaboration with the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University at Silpakorn University during 9th - 15th February 2012

 

The first student talent art competition in Bodhi Series to support the students to create art work by arranging the art talent competition on "Ganesha" Ganesha is a great diety who connect with Thai and Indian tradition. God of intelligence, eliminate difficulty, nobility and grateful. Also in the art line, "Ganesha" is the god of art so the theme of "Ganesha" encourage the student to have inspiration, imagination and creating the value art work.12 prizes were awarded to the winners by the Ambassador.

Art Talent Competition 2012

 

Indian Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in collaboration with the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University at the National Gallery during 13th - 29th July 2012

 

The second student talent art competition in Bodhi Series explored the shared cultural themes through the artistic expression of young Thai people. Bodhi means wisdom, enlightened. Bodhi tree is placenta with Buddha (Placenta means persons born on the same day or in the same year of Lord Buddha). Bodhi tree is one of seven placenta and it is also a tree which CBuddhism and Hinduism give there highly respected.

 

The awards were given away by the Ambassador at University.

 

Light of Asia

 

Indian Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives Foundation organized the Buddha Leela Bangkok Festival 2012 to celebrate the 2,600th anniversary of the enlightenment of the Buddha.

 

There was Bodhi fare, a large public exhibition at Siam Paragon Centre from 17-20 May 2012 and the opening of film/ Gala of the International Buddhist Film Festival 2012 by Indian Film "Prem Sanyas, Light of Asia on 6th June 2012 at Scala Theatre, Siam Square with the accompanied on sitar and tabla instruments by ICC Sitar teachers Ustad Matloob Hussain Khan and ICC Tabla teacher, Ustad Vasi Ahmed Khan with international musicians.
