What is SVCC?
SVCC stands for Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre. The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India presents cultural programmes each month such as dance and music recitals, exhibitions of painting and photography, illustrated talks, regular film screenings and discussions on a range of cultural topics related to India and Thailand. SVCC also has regular classes in Indian art forms.

What classes does SVCC have and what is the schedule for these classes?
SVCC has the following classes:

Sanskrit
Saturday 3.00-4.00 pm

Hindi
Saturday : 1.00-2.00 pm (Advanced) and 2.00-3.00 pm (Beginner)

Yoga
Tuesday : 5.00 - 6.00 pm
Wednesday : 6.00 - 7.00 pm
Thursday : 6.00 - 7.00 pm

Tabla
Thursday : 5.00 – 6.00 pm
Saturday : 1.00-2.00 pm

Hindustani Vocal Music
Friday : 4.00 – 5.00 pm
Saturday : 12.00-1.00 pm

Bharatanatyam Dance
Wednesday : 4.00 – 5.00 pm
Saturday : 11.00 -12.00 pm

Kathak Dance
Saturday : 10.00-11.00 am

Harmonium
Friday : 5.00 – 6.00 pm

How to register for the class? What is the procedure?
You have to personally come and register for classes at SVCC. The documents and fees can be submitted on the first day of the class.
The documents required for registration are 1 passport size photo and 1 copy of your ID card/passport.

What is the registration fee for Indian Cultural Centre?
The registration fee is 50.00 baht (One time only).
The monthly fee is 200.00 baht/class/art form.
Hindi classes are for six months duration. All other art forms you can join any time.

Is there a Hindi class on weekday?
Hindi classes are held only on Saturday from 1.00-2.00 pm (Advanced)and 2.00-3.00 pm (Beginner)

What are the Indian Cultural Centre’s hours of operation?
The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday,
Tuesday : 10.00 am to 6.00 pm
Wednesday : 10.00 am to 7.00 pm
Thursday : 10.00 am to 7.00 pm
Friday : 10.00 am To 6.00 pm
Saturday : 9.30 am To 5.30 pm
Apart from office hours the Centre is open for scheduled events in the evening.

How do I reach the Indian Cultural Centre by using public transportation?
If you are using public transport, you can get to SVCC by BTS (Sky train) or MRT (The metropolitan rapid transportation).
